Information Brochure For The Stand Builder

Stand Regulations

In this overview you can find a short overview of the most important regulations concerning the construction of a stand in Brussels Expo, during exhibitions of VNU Exhibitions Europe. More information can be found in the exhibitor manual of the exhibition in which you are participating.

1.    To be sure of a fluent construction of the stand you are advised to submit the construction drawing of your stand to A-booth. A-booth will assess the design on location, technical aspects and possible environmental factors.

2.    The separation walls with the neighbours need to be 2,50 meter high and the floor needs to be covered.  Be aware! In case you are using an elevated floor and you are using walls on that floor of a height of 2,50 meter your stand will be higher than 2,50 meter. So subtract the height of your floor from the height of your walls. So you can prevent your stand of becoming too high.

3.    Depending on the height of the hall, you can build higher than 2,50 meter. Although you must have agreed this with ExpoPoint. For the concern of your neighbours the construction of a wall higher than 2,50 meter must be build at a distance at least one meter from the wall of the neighbours. By doing this neither you nor your neighbour will be surprised in an unpleasant way. Only after confirmation in writing from your neighbour it is allowed to diverge from this rule. Pay attention to the fact that the finishing of the backside of the higher wall must be executed by your stand construction contractor, after consultation with your neighbours.

4.    Participants (mostly with an island stand or a end-of-row stand) can be short of wall surface. In case you are short of wall surface, it is allowed to create small walls within the stand, but these must be placed at least one meter from the border between your stand and the aisle. This will remain in an open character of your stand. If you still wish to place a wall on the border of the stand, point 5 will come into effect.

5.    Every aisle side of a stand can be closed for a maximum of 50%, with a maximum of 5 meters, unless VNU Exhibitions Europe judges otherwise in an written permission. Hereby we reserve the right to, mostly not to disadvantage other participants, deviate from the regulations.

6.    Eventual obstacles within your stand may be fenced off, taking in consideration that the eventual fire fighting equipment remain visible and easy accessible. It is not allowed to mount anything to the pillars. For more information you can contact A-booth: 0031 75 622 55 81.

7.    A multiple storied stand is higher than 2,50 meter and is allowed if you have informed VNU exhititions Europe and also you have build at least one meter away from your neighbours. It is also not for free, half of the net storey meters will be charged. Also here you have to pay attention to the fact that you have to contact A-booth and provide them with the floor plan to get permission. Besides the permission of A-booth you will have to contact :

A. fire department

B. city council of Utrecht (department city development), with respect to the strength calculations. Contact data can be   found in the exhibition guide.

8.    Stand construction overrunning the aisles is not allowed without consultation of VNU Exhibitions Europe. Activities have to take place within the stand, so you have to keep displays and products within the stand. In that way you are not obstructing the visitor flow and you increase the safety of exhibitors and visitors.
