Keynote: De mythes van informatie beveiliging

Over de keynote sessie:
In spite of thousands of researchers in information security who have published tens of thousands of articles, information security is not a science. There are solid techniques to improve security, but there are no good ways to measure security. FUD (fear/uncertainty/doubt) is a common strategy to sell security solutions, yet there are few reliable statistics on the impact and cost of attacks and there is very limited information sharing about real attacks. Even e-security industry leaders seem to be vulnerable to being hacked. In this context, it is not always understood which technologies work and which don’t and many decisions are based on factoids and myths. In this talk we try to separate myths from facts and we attempt to predict how information security will evolve over the next decade.
