First online edition of, Data & Cloud Expo

“What a relief to see a different way of presenting. Great this format!”, Is one of the many positive responses given in the live chat of the online event, Data & Cloud Expo on March 31 and April 1. The first online edition of the IT trade fair took place live from Brussels Expo.

IT managers and professionals from Belgium and abroad followed an interactive program, in which the world of IT transformation, including the associated challenges and solutions, was main topic.

Microsoft, Google and Amazon Web Services, but also the largest Belgian bank “KBC” and people from LSEC (Leaders in European Security) were part of the program. In addition, the “new way of working” came to light because of the speakers who joined in from all over the world. For example, there were live streams between India, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States and Portugal.

As host of the event, Wim de Vilder, the most famous news anchor of the VRT in Belgium, guided almost 100 substantive sessions. In addition, interaction with the visitors was sought through an online chat and various interactive tools. Questions were answered live and new comments were responded to immediately. Responses like “That matchmaking platform is really great”, “Thanks for the great insights” and “What a passionate speaker” were passed in the chat.

If you wanted to network as a visitor, you were also at the right place. Visitors automatically received personal recommendations for sessions and connections at the online platform. In this way they could easily make contact with relevant fellow professionals, speakers and exhibitors. Within a few clicks, a 1-on-1 meeting was scheduled.

We look back on a great first online event and are now focusing on the next edition in 2022, where we look for a suitable, hybrid form and were we want to maintain the successful formula of matching at the online platform.
